26/10/07: Feminist Neo-Burlesque Performance-Presentation,
The Central School of Speech and Drama, London. I was asked by lisellel Terret who coordinated and curated the evening, to perform as miss Vagina Head for this presentation and performance event. Unfortunately I had just moved to Australia when this event was being organized so I could not perform. However Miss Vagina Head was still present as I exhibited her photographic works instead. 12-30/07/07: The Secret Garden Party, Cambridge:
This festival is an annual event held in Cambridge, England. The festival is an arts and music festival with many sculptures placed around the rolling hills between each stage. This was where I staged my largest performance piece to date. I had to make 60 identical vagina heads and masks from one mould, with a team of 6 helpers. People at the festival painted these and wore them in The Miss Vagina Head Parade, which was held on the Saturday night. Miss Vagina Head was invited to get up on stage with performers, lyrics from songs were changed to “Vagina Vagina Vagina…” and generally there was a lot of Vagina appreciation going around.

I have recently been working on a project, which I have called Vagina Shoes; my plan is to make many pairs of shoes with vaginas sculpted inside them. Once I have finished these works they will be displayed in an installation, with the shoes lined up inside a mirrored wardrobe, hanging on shinny metal shoe racks. I would like to name some of these shoes separately as they seem to have an essence of the women who would be wearing them. For example a Shoe that looks like it would belong to a woman named Jessica would be named Jessica. Women’s shoes evoke a certain notion of feminine power. The Vagina shoe represents its potential owner; it is a stereotypical view of the women who would wear the shoe, her vagina and its sexual personality. The vagina in the shoe represents what the woman wearing it imagines her vagina to look like.
